My Practice

I work using an integrative approach, drawing on psychodynamic and person-centred therapy, and incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where helpful. As an integrative therapist, I also draw on Schema Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS), tailoring the approach to each person.

My focus is on helping you understand the patterns that keep showing up in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviours and, importantly, how to apply that understanding in your daily life so things begin to change in practice, not just in insight.

Alongside this, I use psychological theory and research to support practical and meaningful change, helping reduce distress and improve how you respond in real situations such as relationships, work, and emotional triggers.

Sessions are collaborative and paced according to what feels manageable for you. The therapeutic relationship supports this process, as feeling understood and steady in the work makes it easier to try new ways of responding outside of sessions.

If you are ready to begin therapy, I am here to support you in making sense of what you are experiencing and turning that understanding into real, applied change in your everyday life.

Our first session

Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation to explore what you are looking for and how I may be able to support you. This is also an opportunity to ask questions and ensure we feel like a good fit.

In the first full session, we will begin to explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope to change or understand, and what feels most important for us to focus on. We will also discuss practical arrangements such as fees, availability and confidentiality.

Confidentiality is a key part of the therapeutic process, and I will explain this clearly, including any legal or ethical limits.

The first session is a space for you to get a sense of how I work, ask questions about therapy, and decide whether you feel comfortable continuing.

My Approaches

Psychoanalysis

In psychoanalysis, we focus on changing problematic behaviors by understanding the unconscious meanings and motivations behind them.

Cognitive therapy

In cognitive therapy, the focus is on what people think rather than what they do.

Humanistic therapy

In humanistic therapy, the main focus is on a person's capacity to make rational choices and develop.

Schema therapy

Schema Therapy focuses on identifying and changing long-standing emotional patterns, often rooted in early experiences, so you can respond differently in your relationships and daily life.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) focuses on understanding the different “parts” of yourself, helping you reduce inner conflict and respond more calmly and clearly in everyday life.
